The Office of Well-Being, in collaboration with several CUIMC partners across the institution, host informational sessions aimed at cultivating empathy and community connection by providing tools to promote effective communication and enhancing our understanding of diverse perspectives.

Jewish Belonging: Confronting Antisemitism and Fostering Community

In an era of skyrocketing antisemitism and in a city that has the second largest Jewish population of any city, how can we think more sensitively about Jewish inclusion and belonging in the CUIMC community? During this session, Dr. Laura Shaw Frank, American Jewish Committee’s director of the Center for Education Advocacy, will lead a workshop on understanding Jewish identity and antisemitism to foster a sensitive and supportive community for all at CUIMC.


 The Role of Health Workers in Humanitarian Response

With an unprecedented 300 million women, men, and children in need of humanitarian assistance worldwide, the demand for health care services has reached staggering levels. In the face of crisis, whether caused by natural disasters, armed conflicts, disease outbreaks or displacement, health workers are essential to delivering lifesaving care and ensuring access to critical health services. In this session, members of the International Medical Corps will discuss how health care professionals play a crucial role in addressing the health needs of underserved communities globally, the challenges and approaches of delivering health care in emergencies and the key principles of humanitarian health care, and how you can get involved.
