The CUIMC Educator Development Certificate

In collaboration with the Office of the Vice Dean for Education at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, the Columbia Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), and the CUIMC Office of Faculty Professional Development, Diversity and Inclusion, and other educational experts, the CUIMC Educator Development Certificate of participation program is an evidence-based, faculty- driven, professional development series for educators (clinician-educators) based at VP&S. The CEDC will launch in the fall of 2024 and aims to develop a shared understanding of what it means to be an educator at VP&S and CUIMC and provide a common fund of knowledge for CUIMC educators, particularly those in the clinical space. Each session in the certificate program includes a low-stakes deliverable, intended to support participants' development of their teaching toolkit. Participants are encouraged to complete the required workshops as a cohort, though individual sessions can be taken ad-hoc.
