VP&S Faculty Recognized at 2024 Honors Luncheon
Faculty of the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons who received promotions, tenure, endowed professorships, or notable honors and awards during the 2023-24 academic year were celebrated at the annual VP&S Dean’s Honors Luncheon on Oct. 9.
The event, hosted by James McKiernan, interim dean of VP&S, and the Office of Academic Affairs, included a musical selection performed by members of the VP&S Musicians’ Guild: John (Brock) Bishop, DDS candidate, on piano; Suh Yeon (Sunny) Oh, periodontics resident, on violin; and Bree Zhang, DDS/MPH candidate, on the guzheng.
During the 2023-24 academic year, 23 VP&S faculty members were appointed to endowed professorships, 15 received tenure, 50 were promoted to professor, and 84 were appointed to associate professor. Faculty accomplishments recognized by outside national and international organizations also were honored.
