Community Is Invited to Columbia University’s Annual Career Expo on April 2
Columbia University will hold a Career Expo on Tuesday, April 2, in West Harlem, and the community is invited.
The event will offer opportunities for the public to meet with university hiring representatives–including recruiters from Columbia University Irving Medical Center–and recruiters from private companies in the fields of staffing, security, construction, and more.
In addition, the expo will offer training and workshops on topics including job preparedness, resume development, and improving interview skills and LinkedIn profiles.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Forum, located at the corner of 125th and Broadway on Columbia’s Manhattanville campus. The expo is free and open to anyone. Those intending to attend are encouraged to register and bring copies of their resumes to share with hiring managers.
Attendees can also receive free head shots to enhance their LinkedIn profiles and learn how to use the Columbia University employment site to apply for jobs.
Past expos have attracted hundreds of job seekers and hiring managers from many organizations, including Columbia University schools and departments.
In addition to the training, the expo will provide opportunities to network.
"We are especially excited to hold this year’s Career Expo at our newest building in Manhattanville, The Forum, located across from the Columbia Employment Information Center at 125th Street,” Barbara Catalano, senior director at Columbia University Employment Information Center, told CUIMC Today. “This annual event continues to grow, with additional organizations and employers getting involved, which opens the door to a larger number of jobs and career opportunities for the local community.”
