Now Recruiting: Director of Physician-Scientist Pathway at VP&S
Dear Colleagues,
Late last year, we were excited to announce a new physician-scientist pathway thanks to the overwhelmingly generous support of Roy and Diana Vagelos. We are now beginning our search for a director to lead this program within the Vagelos Institute for Biomedical Research Education and nurture the next generation of physician-scientists at VP&S. This individual will provide leadership for physician-scientist support programming and oversee the full range of these initiatives along the medical training trajectory.
More details are available in the attached job description and all are encouraged to apply. I will chair the search committee alongside Drs. Ali Gharavi, Jordan Orange, Mike Shelanski, Monica Lypson, and Kevin Gardner. If you are interested in the position, please send a letter of interest and your curriculum vitae by email directly to Janiris Jorge (jj318@cumc.columbia.edu) by Friday, July 28. We value your privacy and have taken measures to ensure confidentiality throughout the search process. Janiris is available to provide more information about the position and to answer questions about the hiring process. Please do not hesitate to contact her.
This is an exciting step forward in bolstering our ranks of physician-scientists and increasing their impact on biomedical research and human health. I look forward to reviewing applications alongside the search committee and naming a new director for this important work.
All my best,
Katrina Armstrong, MD
Dean of the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons
