New VP&S Faculty

The VP&S Office of Faculty Affairs has provided this list of full-time faculty who joined the medical school in Nov and Dec. 2024:
- Catherine L. Finnegan, MD, Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Thomas Christopher Randall, MD, Obstetrics and Gynecology: Randall is a gynecologic oncologist with extensive experience and expertise in radical cancer surgery and in minimally invasive surgery including robotics. He is committed to graduate medical education and has sustained work in global health, including multiple projects involving cervical cancer prevention and management of gynecologic oncology fellowship programs in low- and middle-income countries.
- Maggie Gaughran, DO, Pediatrics: Gaughran is a pediatric hospitalist at New York-Presbyterian Westchester. Her professional interests focus on pediatric care, public health, and medically underserved populations.
- Stella Kang, MD, Radiology: Kang is a board-certified radiologist with expertise in abdominal imaging and a pioneer in outcomes research, health care delivery science, and technology assessment. She is vice chair of clinical research in the Department of Radiology and the founding director of Columbia’s Center for Advanced Diagnostic Research (CADRe), a multidisciplinary center dedicated to translating new diagnostics into clinical care.
- Rima Patel, MD, Medicine
- Seyedmehdi Payabvash, MD, Radiology: Sam Payabvash is a neuroradiologist and neuroimaging clinician-scientist who focuses on cerebrovascular disease and acute brain injury in adults and children. His research focus is developing novel imaging techniques and analytical tools to guide treatment in acute brain injury settings.
- George Kourlas, PharmD, Radiology: Kourlas is a board-certified nuclear pharmacist responsible for procuring, compounding, dispensing, and distributing radiopharmaceuticals used in SPECT and PET imaging.
- Prasanthi Maddali, MD, Anesthesiology: Maddali is a licensed adult general anesthesiologist who provides compassionate and research-supported care to all patients. She is interested in obstetric and regional anesthesia as well as frailty and quality improvement research.
