Dean Fischbach To Be Honored At Parkinson's Disease Foundation Gala
WHAT: The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation will honor the executive vice president and dean of Columbia University Health Sciences and the president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital at the foundation’s annual fund-raising gala. Proceeds of the black-tie Bal du Printemps gala will benefit Parkinson’s disease research.

WHO: Morley Safer, co-editor of CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” will host the evening. Singer Kitty Carlisle Hart will provide a musical interlude. The following individuals will receive awards from the foundation for their exemplary support of medical science:
Dr. Gerald D. Fischbach, executive vice president for health and biomedical sciences and dean of the Faculties of Medicine and Health Sciences, Columbia University; Dr. Herbert Pardes, president and chief executive officer, NewYork- Presbyterian Hospital; and John Castle, chairman, Columbia Presbyterian Health Sciences Advisory Council and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital trustee.
Parkinson’s disease is a debilitating, progressive neurological condition that affects as many as 1 million Americans and their families. The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation aims to advance scientific understanding of Parkinson’s disease through financial support and public advocacy for research.
